Description
BASIC- FREE-MOTION LONGARM GUIDED QUILTING
Description:
Simple, free motion, longarm quilting involves stitching carefully selected patterns that are approximately 1 inch or greater in stitch width apart woven in and around all-over meanders that lift the quilt pattern and lodge it in the meandered backgrounds. To accomplish this style of quilting I will use all the tools in my quilting toolbox – Free-hand guided, various quilt rulers and stencils to name a few techniques.
Additional Information
A quilt finished using the Basic Free Motion process displays the unique stitching that no other quilt will have. Since the stitching lines are further apart, it can be finished sooner and at a lower expense. More thread will be used and there may be two thread colours to enhance the quilt top patterns or to coordinate with your fabric selections. This could be, for example, one thread colour for the patterned prints and another thread colour for the background fabric. This process is ideal for a unique quilt top that will be in your family for generations to come.
