Professional Seamstress
And Quilter - Lisa's Story
Lisa is a third-generation professional seamstress with more than 55 years of sewing experience. Her interest in sewing began as a youngster as she watched her mother sew.
When her mother wasn’t looking, Lisa would play on her mother’s Bernina sewing machine and try to get it to move up and down, but she just ended up tangling up the threads and breaking needles. So, Lisa’s mother gave her a toy sewing machine at age 5.
By age 9, Lisa had her first real sewing machine—a Singer Featherweight. With this machine, Lisa designed and made her first quilt which, in those days, was hand quilted.
She started to save up and later bought a Sears Kenmore 1981 Model, and the rest of her sewing and quilting career is history.
Lisa’s Specialty
Quilting is one of Lisa’s great pastimes, and she has made and given away many custom-designed baby quilts—her specialty.
